As many as 90 newly skilled workers celebrated the completion of a two-year special vocational training course, combining theory at the training institute and on-the-job training in the real time company environment, at a ceremony organized here on Wednesday.
The jubilant young skilled workers, aspiring to join the job market, were also awarded certificate at the ceremony, organized by the Aman Institute for Technical Education (Amantech), the training institute.
Mr. Rainer Schmiedchen, Consul General, Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany, Karachi was the guest of honor and made a brief speech at the occasion while congratulating the pass outs.Apart from the pass outs, the ceremony was also attended by the employers and implementing partners both from the public and private sectors.
Skilled youth aspires to join the labour market-5Amantech initiated in July 2013 training of first batch of two year in the pilot phase of Cooperative Vocational Training (CVT)as Germany Pakistan Training Initiative (GPATI). The TVET Reform Support Programme, which is funded by the European Union and the governments of Netherlands, Germany and Norway,supported the implementation of this special vocational training programme.
Under this special vocational training programme, theoretical and practical training takes place at the training institute and the partner company in five trades including Mechanical, Electronics, General Electric, Automobile and Fabrication Welding & Pipework (FWP). Under the course which comprised of one year institute and one year on the job training for trainees, around 15 enterprises partnered for managing on the job training and total 96 students graduated from five trades.
Noted writer and journalist Mr. Ghazi Salauddin made a motivational speech at the occasion to boost the morale of the pass out trainees. During hisaddress, he provided insight to his own journey of accomplishment, which is based on hard work.
