The Information and Culture department, Government of the Punjab is responsible for development, promotion and dissemination of our cultural heritage. The department is also undertaking various initiatives for revival of cultural heritage. Its main activities are to ensure raising awareness and promoting the visibility of the Cultural heritage, providing capacity-building support to cultural bodies and organizations and promoting international co-operation, the collection, analysis and distribution of information and best practices.

We are looking for professionals for working as “Consultant for Culture” to be placed at Information and Culture department. The incumbent is expected to provide professional, legal and technical assistance for the implementation of activities, programs and projects related to culture. Within this context, the incumbent will:-

•    Contribute to the planning, preparation and follow-up of statutory meetings of the Committee for Cultural Initiatives

•    Participate in the legal and technical evaluation of requests for cultural interventions

•    Assist in evaluating the compliance of the relevant national and provincial legislation

•    Collaborate in the development, co-ordination, implementation and follow-up of a comprehensive capacity-building strategy program through educational materials, methods and tools

•    Draft contracts, briefings, and working and information documents for the department, including its cultural attached formations



•    Advanced university degree (Masters or equivalent) in the field of law, culture, management and/or humanities, or related areas. A university degree in combination with five additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree

Work Experience

•    A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience related to law, cultural heritage and/or humanities

•    Experience in implementing and managing programs and/or projects related to the field of culture


•    Ability to undertake research including the collection and synthesis of information from various sources

•    Excellent coordination and organizational skills

•    Good analytical and problem solving skills

•    Good knowledge of results-based and budget management tools

•    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and persuasively, both orally and in writing; excellent drafting skills

•    Ability to work effectively in a team and to maintain effective working relationships in a group environment

•    Ability to manage heavy workload and to meet tight deadlines, paying close attention to detail and quality of work

•    Excellent IT skills including knowledge of standard office software
