KEK Summer Student Program 2025 in Japan – Fully Funded

Applications are now open for the KEK Summer Student Program 2025 in Japan. This fully funded research opportunity is hosted by KEK, one of the world’s leading accelerator science research laboratories. The program aims to provide hands-on research experience to both national and international students at KEK Tsukuba or J-PARC.

Research Fields

Participants can choose projects based on their academic background in fields such as:

  • Nuclear Physics
  • Material & Life Sciences
  • Accelerator Science
  • Advanced Detection Systems (Sensors, Electronics, Computing)
  • Theoretical Computational Methods in Quantum Field Theory

Students at the Tokai campus will explore particle and nuclear physics, material and life sciences, and universe-related research using advanced accelerator technologies. Meanwhile, students at the Tsukuba campus will focus on Belle II studies and New Physics research.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must be in the latter half of their undergraduate program or the early stages of a Master’s degree.
  • PhD students are not eligible.
  • Open to both Japanese and international students.
